Product description:

Sound Leisure Rocket Vinyl Jukebox 70 45s and Bluetooth - Oak

In 1951, Ohio disc jockey Alan Freed first coined the phrase ‘rock & roll’ to describe an emerging style of music which mixed gospel, rhythm and blues and country music in a hard driving, dynamic blend. Over the next decade ‘rock & roll’ was adopted by suburban teenagers across the globe and went on to influence significant cultural and social change. Our Rocket jukebox transports you back in time to the frenzied mid 50s and the sound that transformed everything. A true jewel in Sound Leisure’s crown, we were the first manufacturer in the world to release a tribute to what is known as the ‘Silver Age’ of jukeboxes. Adorned with chromed-cast furniture reminiscent of the Detroit automobiles of the era, the Rocket oozes 1950s cool and offers a mind-blowing blast of nostalgia, while Sound Leisure’s industry-leading S3 Unity jukebox platform and vinyl mechanism brings the machine bang up-to-date with modern technology and features.

This stunning 50s styled jukebox takes its name from the song, ‘Rocket 88’ by Jackie Brenston and the Delta Cats. The 1951 song has been hailed as the first true ‘rock & roll’ record and our Rocket jukebox certainly has the sound and looks to live up to the notoriety. Featuring graceful, sweeping cabinet chrome-work and a combination of shaped glass and subtle lighting, the Rocket jukebox draws attention but retains an air of elegance ensuring it look amazing in any location. Finished as standard in natural, warm medium oak the cabinet can also be specified in a wide range of finishes or colours.

How about elegant Turquoise or bold Red to really rock the 50’s look, or Anthracite Grey to add a smart, contemporary edge, the choice is entirely yours! The Rocket is also our go to model for many of our ‘Custom Shop’ creations, so if you’re aiming for a unique, one off jukebox that’s got your own twist, it’s a great place to start. Many of our best known Custom Shop models are based on this flexible cabinet, including the Marshall jukebox and The Beatles, Sgt Peppers Jukebox.

The unique rotating vinyl mechanism was developed in house by Sound Leisure and was launched in 2016, making the Rocket the first production vinyl jukebox manufactured anywhere in the world for over 20 years. It holds 70 records and can play both the A and B side of ‘dinked’ or ‘undinked’ records. The revolving title rack allows you to easily view and make selections from every track held on the jukebox and our popular Label Magic software enables you to create your very own record labels, so you can mix up the music selection whenever you choose. Records are selected directly from the buttons on the jukebox or via the infra-red remote, which also controls all the other jukebox features such as shuffle play, lighting, record reject and volume.
