Retro Tiki Time

Tiki Tikis are statues that were originally made in Polynesia (Pacific Ocean). These were carved in wood or stone and in the form of figures from Polynesian mythology. The tikis were made by the Maori in New Zealand and the Cook Islands and on the islands of French Polynesia. In Tahitian these are called Ti'i and in Hawaiian Ki'i. When tiki culture became popular in the United States in the 20th century, the tikis were an important inspiration for all kinds of art objects, furniture and tableware.
