Jacques Brel - Archives Studio 2LP

Archives Studio takes listeners behind the scenes of Jacques Brel's remarkable recording career. Released on 9 October 2026, this double-vinyl collection presents alternative takes, early recordings and rare versions sourced from original master tapes dating from 1953 to 1978.

Rather than serving as another conventional greatest-hits collection, Archives Studio provides an insight into how Brel's songs developed in the studio. Familiar compositions including Quand on n'a que l'amour, Marieke, Ces gens-là, Mon enfance, Ne me quitte pas, Jaurès and Orly appear in alternative, early-take or stripped-back guitar-and-vocal form. The recordings also highlight Brel's creative work alongside François Rauber and Gérard Jouannest.

Presented as a 2LP black-vinyl set, Archives Studio is an intriguing archival release for collectors of Jacques Brel and classic French chanson, offering a different perspective on recordings created across more than two decades.
