Product information
Traveling Wilburys Vol. 1 is the legendary debut album by one of rock music's most remarkable supergroups. The Traveling Wilburys brought together George Harrison, Bob Dylan, Roy Orbison, Tom Petty and Jeff Lynne, combining rock 'n' roll, folk, country rock and melodic pop into an effortlessly enjoyable album. Originally released in 1988, it became a major international success.
The group came together after the musicians recorded “Handle With Care”, initially intended as a B-side for a George Harrison single. The recording proved far too good to remain a B-side, inspiring the musicians to create an entire album together.
The resulting record features five unmistakable musical personalities working together with remarkable chemistry. Alongside “Handle With Care”, the album includes favourites such as “End Of The Line”, “Heading For The Light”, “Not Alone Any More” and “Tweeter And The Monkey Man”. The album went on to win a Grammy Award and remains one of the defining supergroup records of its era.
This 2026 BMG reissue features the 2016 remaster and is pressed on a single 140-gram black vinyl LP, with a European release date of 23 October 2026.
