John Lee Hooker - Jealous LP

Jealous is a raw and powerful blues album by the legendary John Lee Hooker. Recorded in 1982 but not released until 1986, the album returned forty years later as this 40th Anniversary Edition, pressed on 140-gram black vinyl.

The record puts Hooker's unmistakable sound firmly in the spotlight: hypnotic boogie rhythms, gritty guitar playing and his deep, instantly recognizable voice. Unlike several of his later albums featuring numerous guest musicians, Jealous is a stripped-down affair driven by Hooker and his seasoned band. It combines reworked material from his earlier catalogue with the uncompromising electric blues sound that made him one of the genre's most influential artists.

Jealous went on to win a W.C. Handy Award and received a GRAMMY nomination. Released by BMG in October 2026, this anniversary pressing is an excellent addition to any collection of classic blues, electric blues and John Lee Hooker recordings.
