Alberto Baldan Bembo (1938-2017), a versatile musician known by various aliases, was a revered vibraphonist, organist, and pianist. He contributed to I Menestrelli del Jazz since 1959 and Bruno De Filippi’s group from 1963. Notably, he accompanied Italian singer Mina for several years.
Baldan Bembo also had a prolific career as a film soundtrack composer and released albums, including the sought-after "The Soul Of Ali Ben Djamballa" (1974). This LP, highly coveted by collectors worldwide, blends Afro-flavored funk with European Library Music grooves, offering solid breaks and funky rhythms, ideal for sampling. His soundtrack for "Codice d’amore orientale" (1974) will soon be reissued on vinyl as a limited edition.
