In celebration of Record Store Day 2024, Universal Music Recordings and Decca Records are reissuing jazz guitarist Amancio D’Silva's album 'Reflections (The Romantic Guitar Of Amancio D’Silva)' on limited edition clear vinyl. Originally released in 1971, this highly sought-after album is now available again for the first time. Remastered at Abbey Road from the original analogue master tapes, this edition features high-definition audio. The package includes images of the original tapes and new sleeve notes by Tony Higgins, the Executive Producer for Decca’s 'British Jazz Explosion' series. Recorded in May 1970 as part of the Lansdowne Series overseen by Denis Preston, the album showcases twelve instrumental pieces, including classics by George Gershwin, Duke Ellington, and Hoagy Carmichael, as well as originals by arrangers David Mack, Stan Tracey, and Leon Young. Born in Mumbai in 1936, D’Silva began his musical career in India before relocating to England in 1967. Despite starting from humble beginnings, he collaborated with prominent figures in the British jazz scene, leaving a lasting legacy of exquisite guitar work. 'Reflections' offers a glimpse into D’Silva’s remarkable talent and the passion he brought to his craft.
