Andrew Sa – American Rough (Clear Shadow Vinyl) LP

Clear Black “Shadow” Vinyl • Debut Album • 10 Tracks • Bloodshot Records • Americana / Country / Indie-Folk

American Rough is the debut album by Chicago singer-songwriter Andrew Sa, released on June 26, 2026 through Bloodshot Records. This special edition presents the album on distinctive Clear Black “Shadow” Vinyl.

Inspired partly by childhood memories of Ford F150 rides and his mother's travelling karaoke business, American Rough represents the culmination of Sa's lifelong fascination with the expressive power of the human voice. After developing his style within Chicago's independent music community and through his Cosmic Country Showcase, Sa collaborated with H.C. McEntire on the album.

Musically, the record bridges mid-century country-pop with contemporary Americana and indie-folk. Pedal steel, lively horns and Sa's distinctive crooning vocal style evoke classic country and pop traditions, with inspirations including Patsy Cline and Roy Orbison, while maintaining a decidedly contemporary character.

The album begins with the brooding title track American Rough, followed by the tender Under You. One of its key songs, Lavender Cowboy, is a tribute to Sa's late friend and mentor Patrick Haggerty, the pioneering artist behind Lavender Country.

Other highlights include Your Whisper, Gorgeous Things, You Turned Me On and Love Songs. Where It Lands features Rosali and H.C. McEntire, while McEntire also appears on the closing Fightin' To Be Fightin'.

Produced by H.C. McEntire, Missy Thangs and Andrew Sa, mixed by Missy Thangs and mastered by Sarah Register, American Rough is an adventurous contemporary country record rooted in tradition without being confined by it.

An excellent coloured-vinyl release for fans of Americana, alternative country, cosmic country, countrypolitan and contemporary singer-songwriters.
