So Much For Goodbyes is the fifth studio album by Grammy-winning American bluegrass guitarist and songwriter Billy Strings. Released on August 28, 2026, this deeply personal record explores grief, family, loss and the process of saying goodbye. This standard edition presents the complete 16-track album across two black vinyl records.

The album was strongly influenced by the loss of Strings' mother. He created the record partly as a way to process that grief, turning heartbreak into songs while relying on his guitar as a familiar source of comfort. Adding another personal connection, the album's original artwork was created by his mother.

Musically, So Much For Goodbyes remains rooted in bluegrass and American roots music, while incorporating country, folk, Americana and the adventurous approach that has helped Billy Strings reach far beyond the traditional bluegrass audience.

Strings collaborated with renowned producer T Bone Burnett, bringing together traditional acoustic musicianship and a broader contemporary roots sound.

Across its 16 tracks, the album moves from I'm One of Those and Burn the Other End through Carry Us Home, Lay Me Down, Lucid Daydream, Mill Town Flood and Live to Tell. Later highlights include I Like Train Songs, 10,000 Miles From a Friend, Still I Crash and Remember to Cry.

The record concludes with the instrumental Debra's Waltz, named after Strings' mother and providing a moving finale to one of his most personal albums.

This standard Black Vinyl 2LP edition was pressed at Paramount Pressing in Denver, Colorado, with the black edition listed as a double 140-gram vinyl pressing.
