The Magic Whip is the celebrated 2015 comeback album from Blur, marking their first full studio release with the classic lineup since 13 in 1999. Written and recorded during downtime in Hong Kong, the album carries a late-night, neon-lit atmosphere paired with emotional reflection.
Musically, it blends Blur’s trademark britpop sensibilities with their more experimental, modern sound. Damon Albarn’s emotive vocals, Graham Coxon’s distinctive guitar textures and the tight rhythm section of Alex James and Dave Rowntree shine throughout. Standout tracks include “Go Out”, “Lonesome Street”, and “There Are Too Many Of Us.”
This 2LP edition delivers the full sonic depth of the album — essential for fans of britpop, alternative rock and Blur’s enduring legacy.
