The Way The West Was Won is an atmospheric country and Americana album by American singer-songwriter Dallas Burrow. Released on September 26, 2025, through Forty Below Records, the album is a musical tribute to the history, traditions and storytelling heritage of the American West.

Across twelve songs, Burrow takes listeners on a journey through a world of cowboys, open landscapes, dusty trails, outlaws and timeless western stories.

Musically, the album blends traditional country, western music, folk and Americana with a fresh contemporary approach. Warm instrumentation, memorable melodies and vivid lyrics create a collection that feels deeply connected to the roots of American music.

For the album, Dallas Burrow collaborated with Grammy-winning musician and producer Lloyd Maines, a highly respected figure in Texas country and roots music. Maines brings an authentic and carefully balanced sound to Burrow's storytelling.

The record also features three distinguished guest performers: Ray Wylie Hubbard, Kelly Willis and Jim Lauderdale. Their contributions bring additional character and depth to an already rich musical collection.

Opening track Read 'Em And Weep features Ray Wylie Hubbard, whose distinctive blend of outlaw country, blues and gritty storytelling makes him a natural collaborator for Burrow.

Colorado Bound features Kelly Willis, whose expressive vocals complement Burrow's warm delivery and give the song a particularly memorable quality.

Songs such as Disappearing Ink, Justice In The West and Black Rock Desert Blues continue the album's journey through the landscapes, legends and musical traditions of the American West.

The title track The Way The West Was Won features acclaimed country and bluegrass songwriter Jim Lauderdale, adding another important voice from the American roots music tradition.

On the second side, tracks including Indian Song, Livin' For Today and When The Cowboy Rides continue the album's western-inspired storytelling. Closing song Cowboy's Prayer provides a fitting conclusion to the musical journey.

Dallas Burrow's music recalls the storytelling traditions of Townes Van Zandt, Willie Nelson and Marty Robbins. His affection for Texas, classic cowboy songs and emotionally engaging narratives gives The Way The West Was Won a timeless appeal.

This edition is pressed on 140-gram vinyl and includes a lyric insert, allowing listeners to explore the stories and words behind the music.

A wonderful addition to any collection of country & western, Texas country, Americana, cowboy songs and traditional American roots music.
