The New Black and White Part III is the third instalment in Danny Vera's The New Black and White series. Released on October 6, 2017, this six-track EP combines original material with a selection of distinctive covers, bringing together Vera's love for classic Americana, country, rock 'n' roll and singer-songwriter music.

The EP opens with Snow in April, a protest song presented with an impressive big-band arrangement. It is followed by Running and Hiding, a particularly significant song in Vera's career: according to Excelsior Recordings, it was the very first song he ever wrote.

Another deeply personal moment is Toothpick Louis, written in memory of Danny Vera's father, who had passed away the previous year. It adds an emotional dimension to an EP characterised by its wide variety of themes and instrumentation.

Three carefully chosen covers complete the record. Vera reinterprets Timmy T's One More Try and Close II You's Baby Don't Go, before closing with And I Love Her by The Beatles. The latter has an especially intimate origin: rather than recording it during the regular studio sessions, Vera recorded the performance at home using his iPhone.

Almost all of the remaining material was recorded at Frans Hagenaars' SSE Noord studio. The result is a compact but diverse release showcasing several sides of Danny Vera's music, from Americana and country rock to intimate acoustic performances and classic big-band influences.

This CD edition contains 6 tracks, runs for approximately 19 minutes, and carries catalogue number EXCEL96497 and EAN 8714374964975.
