Danny Vera - The New Black & White PT.IV Home Recordings CD
The fourth in the series of EPs that Danny Vera - in addition to his regular albums - releases on CD and 10” vinyl. The New Black & White always features a few of his own tracks, supplemented with defining covers: Zijn Het Je Ogen by Koos Alberts, In The Ghetto by Elvis Presley and Berlin’s Take My Breath Away. In addition to the covers, the album opens with an intimate version of his own Hold On To Let Go. The music is recorded at home in Middelburg. At least, almost all the songs are recorded there, because Pt. IV includes a new version of Pressure Makes Diamonds. The Radio 2 Topsong has been recorded in a new version with brass, strings and a real choir by Frans Hagenaars in the SSE Noord Studio. All in all, a very diverse album with many different themes, music and instrumentation, but undeniably Danny Vera.
1:Hold on to let go
2:Zijn het je ogen
3:Better off
4:In the ghetto
5:Take my breath away
6:Pressure makes diamonds (2020 version)
