Elvis Presley: '68 Comeback Special: 50th Anniversary Edition DVD

Elvis Presley's '68 Comeback Special (50-jarig jubileumeditie) is the definitive chronicle of the already legendary NBC TV show 'Elvis'. After years of making movies, Elvis wanted to reconnect with his audience. NBC conceived the concept consisting of a sit-down segment, a stand-up segment, and musical performances. In the sit-down session, Presley is surrounded by fans and a small band. The acoustic sound and intimate atmosphere would become the precursor to MTV Unplugged.

The 50th-anniversary edition features all the iconic audio recordings and all performances captured on video for the first time on Blu-ray. For millions of fans, including a young Bruce Springsteen, Elvis' '68 Comeback Special was a life-changing event. "I remember waiting for the '68 Special for weeks," Springsteen recalled. "I knew it was coming. I remember exactly where our TV was set up in the dining room, the exact place I was sitting. I mean, it's one of those memories that's forever planted in my mind."
