He Touched Me: The Gospel Music Of Elvis Presley tells the remarkable story of the music that remained closest to Elvis Presley's heart throughout his life: gospel music. Although the world knew him as the King of Rock 'n' Roll, gospel was one of Elvis' earliest musical influences and remained an important part of both his private life and professional career.

This documentary explores the gospel singers and groups who influenced the young Elvis and shows how those influences later became an unmistakable part of his own recordings and live performances. Rare photographs, archive footage, home movies, interviews and musical performances help tell this deeply personal side of the Elvis story.

Friends, musicians and people who worked closely with Elvis share their memories, including members of The Jordanaires, The Imperials and The Stamps Quartet. Their stories reveal Elvis' genuine passion for gospel and recall the informal gospel singing sessions that often continued long after recording sessions and concerts had ended.

The music naturally plays a major role, with Elvis classics including Peace In The Valley, His Hand In Mine, How Great Thou Art, You'll Never Walk Alone, Amazing Grace and He Touched Me. Gospel also brought Elvis some of the greatest critical recognition of his career, with all three Grammy Awards he received during his lifetime connected to gospel or sacred music.

He Touched Me is therefore much more than a collection of performances. It is an intimate look at the music Elvis truly loved and an excellent addition to any serious Elvis Presley collection.
