2-CD Set | REELTRAX | ESSENTIAL FOR EVERY ELVIS FAN!

Dive deep into the musical legacy of The King with this outstanding 2-CD release from REELTRAX: Elvis Presley – Heading Down to Sunset Boulevard: The ’74 Summer Festival Rehearsal.
This set is an absolute must-have for every dedicated Elvis collector and fan.

While the legendary August 16, 1974 rehearsal has been released before, you won’t believe your ears when you hear the stunning sound quality of this newly mixed and restored edition. Using the latest state-of-the-art studio technology, REELTRAX has created the most balanced and authentic version yet — highlighting both Elvis’ powerful voice and the tight musicianship of his band.

A legendary rehearsal brought back to life

Earlier versions of this rehearsal suffered from sound drops whenever Elvis started singing. This new mix corrects that completely, resulting in a natural, rich sound that truly captures the energy and emotion of the moment.

In addition, the tapes have been speed-corrected — a vital improvement, since older issues ran too slow. Now, Elvis sounds fresh, inspired, and full of life, just as he did during the peak of his 1974 Las Vegas “Summer Festival” engagement.

A complete experience across two discs

The full rehearsal was too extensive for just one disc, so REELTRAX delivers a powerful 2-CD set including not only the complete rehearsal, but also performance highlights from the 1974 Summer Festival shows.

Disc 1 offers a fascinating look behind the scenes, featuring multiple takes of If You Love Me (Let Me Know), Promised Land, Down in the Alley, and It’s Midnight. Each version reveals a different glimpse of Elvis’ artistry and his creative process.

Disc 2 expands the experience with rare live performances from August 1974, including passionate renditions of Bridge Over Troubled Water, How Great Thou Art, Spanish Eyes and An American Trilogy. You’ll also hear unique spoken moments, such as Elvis Talks About Racism and Elvis Talks About Degrees of Black Belts — true collector’s gems.
