Product information
The Follow That Dream Collectors Label (FTD) takes fans back to the summer of 1974 with the exciting new Summer Nights 1974 4CD box set. This deluxe release brings together four complete evening performances from Elvis Presley's successful June 1974 U.S. tour, capturing The King at the height of his live performing powers.
Included are the complete concerts from:
Des Moines, Iowa – June 20, 1974
Philadelphia, Pennsylvania – June 23, 1974
Columbus, Ohio – June 25, 1974
Milwaukee, Wisconsin – June 28, 1974
As with previous releases in the highly acclaimed FTD Live On Tour Series, these performances are presented directly from the original soundboard recordings made by Elvis' touring sound engineers, offering listeners an authentic and unfiltered concert experience.
Throughout the June tour, Elvis delivers energetic performances packed with rock 'n' roll classics, emotional ballads, gospel favourites and powerful contemporary songs. Highlights include unforgettable renditions of Suspicious Minds, Polk Salad Annie, Bridge Over Troubled Water, Funny How Time Slips Away, Steamroller Blues, An American Trilogy, Love Me Tender, Hound Dog, and the traditional concert closer Can't Help Falling In Love.
Although the setlists remain largely consistent across the four concerts, each performance has its own unique atmosphere thanks to Elvis' spontaneous stage presence, audience interaction and subtle variations in song selection and delivery.
Presented in a deluxe 5-inch digipack, Summer Nights 1974 is an essential release for collectors and anyone who appreciates Elvis Presley's outstanding live performances during the mid-1970s.
