Discover Elvis Presley as you rarely hear him: spontaneous, natural and full of musical magic!

Gladyson Records proudly presents Elvis Presley – The Perfect 1, a fascinating double CD featuring 40 carefully selected first takes recorded during Elvis' legendary studio sessions throughout the 1960s and 1970s.

This remarkable collection offers a unique opportunity to experience Elvis' music from a different perspective.

While most albums feature the familiar master recordings, The Perfect 1 takes you back to the very beginning of the recording process, presenting Elvis' first attempts at songs that would eventually become part of his extraordinary musical legacy.

These early performances often reveal a different side of Elvis. Sometimes his delivery is more relaxed and spontaneous, while other recordings demonstrate his remarkable ability to deliver an outstanding vocal performance from the very first take.

It is precisely this spontaneity that makes this collection so fascinating.

The Magic of Elvis' First Studio Takes

Throughout his recording career, Elvis worked closely with his musicians and producers to develop and perfect his recordings.

Songs were often recorded several times, with arrangements, instrumentation and vocal performances evolving throughout the sessions.

However, according to Gladyson Records, some of Elvis' first takes were already equal to, or occasionally even better than, the final master recordings.

These initial performances can capture a special atmosphere and emotional intensity that sometimes changes as a recording session progresses.

The Perfect 1 brings together 40 of these remarkable first takes, allowing listeners to rediscover familiar songs in their earliest recorded form.

The producers have also retained selected studio dialogue where appropriate, adding an extra dimension to the listening experience.

The result is an intimate musical journey through two remarkable decades of Elvis Presley's recording career.

40 Carefully Selected First Takes

The first CD focuses primarily on Elvis' recordings from the 1960s, featuring outstanding performances of Such A Night, Fever, Down In The Alley, If I Can Dream and Power Of My Love.

The inclusion of If I Can Dream is particularly interesting for fans of Elvis' legendary 1968 television special.

The second CD explores his recordings from the 1970s, featuring an impressive selection of ballads, gospel performances, country songs and powerful vocal recordings.

Highlights include Bridge Over Troubled Water, Snowbird, My Boy, And I Love You So and Moody Blue.

Gospel enthusiasts will also appreciate the inclusion of Miracle Of The Rosary, I've Got Confidence and He Is My Everything.

Together, these 40 recordings offer a fascinating insight into Elvis' musical versatility and his remarkable ability to interpret a wide variety of material.
