The Esso Man – a smiling symbol of the golden motoring age

Introduced in the 1950s, the Esso Man became a global icon of friendliness, service, and quality fuel.
This neon edition captures that joyful spirit perfectly – with the classic saluting pose and brilliant colors that glow like the original roadside signs.

Even when unlit, the detailed backplate makes it a striking decorative feature.
When lit, it becomes a beacon of vintage automotive history.

Why real neon instead of LED?

At Bennies Fifties, we work exclusively with real glass neon, hand-shaped and filled with noble gases – no plastic, no imitation.

Real neon means:

Authentic warm glow

Deep, vibrant colors

Handmade craftsmanship

Long-lasting quality

True retro authenticity

LED may imitate the look, but not the soul.
Real neon glows with life – just like the iconic Esso Man.

Handcrafted excellence

Each Esso Man Neon is handmade by skilled neon artisans.
Every tube is shaped, filled, and mounted with care to capture the original Esso character in full detail.

It’s not just a sign – it’s a piece of glowing vintage art from the golden era of gas station culture.
