Ford Gumball Machine on Stand – Original Vintage
An American Classic with History
Beautiful original Ford gumball machine mounted on a heavy cast-iron stand. Featuring a chrome-plated metal body, glass globe and original Ford advertising, this machine is a fantastic display piece for any garage, showroom, game room or Americana collection.
The machine operates with original American dimes (10 cents) and represents the classic vending machines that were commonly found in stores, gas stations and public venues throughout the United States.
The design originated in the 1940s with the Ford Gum & Machine Company of Lockport, New York. This particular example is believed to date from the 1960s or 1970s, while retaining the iconic design used by the company since its earliest years. Similar machines were used in charitable fundraising programs, helping support children's hospitals through the sale of Ford Quality Ball Gum.
Mounted on its heavy stand, this machine makes an impressive statement piece.
