Glen D. Hardin – On Piano EP - Rare Test Pressing

Glen D. Hardin – On Piano EP – Rare Test Pressing

Available at Bennies Fifties and the online Fifties Store

On Piano – Rare Test Pressing is a fascinating collector's release dedicated to American pianist and arranger Glen D. Hardin, best known among Elvis fans as an important member of Elvis Presley's legendary TCB Band. Hardin joined Elvis in 1970 and became an essential part of the powerful live sound that defined many of Presley's concerts during the 1970s.

This rare test pressing is particularly interesting because it combines material by The Crickets with two historic spoken recordings featuring Elvis Presley. Side A contains The Crickets recordings A Million Miles Apart and Million Dollar Movie.

For Elvis collectors, Side B is the real attraction. It features two recordings of Elvis Presley personally introducing Glen D. Hardin on stage. The first comes from Las Vegas in August 1970, during the early period of Hardin's work with Elvis. The second introduction was recorded in South Bend, Indiana in October 1974.

As a Rare Test Pressing, this is an especially desirable version for serious vinyl collectors. Test pressings are normally manufactured before the final production run to check the quality of a record and are generally produced in much smaller quantities than standard commercial pressings.

A remarkable collector's item bringing together the musical histories of Glen D. Hardin, The Crickets, Elvis Presley and the TCB Band.
