Product information
Switch is the tenth studio album by Dutch rock band Golden Earring, released in 1975 as the follow-up to their international breakthrough Moontan and its classic hit “Radar Love.” In 1974, both Billboard in the U.S. and Sounds in the U.K. hailed the group as one of the most promising new bands.
True to its name, Switch represented a real shift for Golden Earring. The album leaned more heavily into funk and progressive rock influences than any of their earlier—or later—work. Its lead single, “Kill Me (Ce Soir),” is a prime example of the band's exploration of a new musical direction.
Golden Earring archivist Wouter Bessels meticulously reviewed all surviving work tapes from the Switch sessions and uncovered a previously unreleased track: “Action Alice & Bow-Tie Basil.” Recorded during the album sessions, it marks the first time the band has approved a fully finished, previously unreleased studio track for official release.
LP2 of this expanded 50th-anniversary edition showcases the best material from the session tapes, supplemented with the 7-inch single versions of “Kill Me (Ce Soir)” and “The Switch”, plus the B-side “Lucky Number.” All audio has been remastered in 24-bit/192 kHz from the original master tapes.
Switch (Remastered & Expanded) is presented as a limited edition of 2,000 individually numbered copies on white vinyl, housed in a gatefold sleeve with two printed inner sleeves and an included lyric sheet.
