A Brief History of Gulf

Founded in 1901, Gulf Oil quickly rose to become one of the most influential oil companies of the 20th century.
Known worldwide for their distinctive orange-and-blue branding and innovative marketing, Gulf became a symbol of automotive excellence – from Formula 1 and McLaren to Le Mans and iconic service stations.

This Gulf “Dealer” Neon captures that rich heritage, bringing the energy of classic racing and mid-century garage culture into your home.

Why real neon instead of LED?

At Bennies Fifties, we create lighting the traditional way – with real glass neon, not plastic LED imitation.
Each tube is hand-shaped and filled with noble gases for that unmistakable warm glow.

Real neon means:

Authentic, continuous glow

Vivid, deep colors

Handmade craftsmanship

Long-lasting quality

True vintage authenticity

LED mimics the look but lacks the heart.
Real neon is alive — it hums, shines, and tells a story.

Handcrafted quality – made with passion

Each Gulf “Dealer” XL Neon is handmade by expert neon craftsmen.
The glass tubes are bent, filled, and mounted with care to recreate the spirit of 1950s Gulf dealerships.

A unique work of illuminated art, blending engineering history with timeless design.
