Vintage Ideal 55 Slider Pepsi Vending Bottle Machine
An Icon of Mid-Century Americana
The original Ideal 55 Slider Pepsi Vending Bottle Machine is one of the most iconic American bottle vending machines of the mid-1950s. Known as the "Slider", this model earned its nickname because customers inserted their coin and then slid the bottle through an internal rack toward the dispensing opening. Instructions printed inside the lid explained exactly how to operate the machine.
The Ideal 55 became extremely popular thanks to its large bottle capacity while occupying very little floor space, making it a favorite in gas stations, diners and roadside stores throughout America.
This machine retains its original bottle opener and the distinctive black bottle cap catcher, two features that collectors highly appreciate for their originality.
Discovered in the United States by The Dutch Pickers, this authentic vintage machine is now available at Bennies Fifties in the Netherlands.
