Product information
Original 1943 Illinois License Plate – Rare Fiberboard Edition
This original 1943 Illinois license plate is a unique piece of American history. Due to wartime metal shortages during World War II, Illinois produced its 1943 license plates from fiberboard instead of steel, making these plates especially sought after by collectors today.
The dark green background with gold-colored lettering gives this plate a timeless vintage appearance, while the authentic wear and aged patina reflect more than 80 years of history.
This original license plate was found in the United States by The Dutch Pickers and carefully selected for its authenticity and rarity. It is an original wartime collectible—not a reproduction.
Ideal for collectors of American license plates, World War II memorabilia, vintage Americana, or as unique wall décor for a garage, workshop, man cave, café, or industrial interior.
