Jan Akkerman – My Focus: Live Under the Rainbow (LP – Blue Transparent Vinyl)

To see Jan Akkerman live is a beautiful thing to behold. On his new record, My Focus – Live Under the Rainbow, you can experience his technical mastery, tone, and passion exactly where they belong – on stage.

The album will be released on December 12th via Artone/Music Theories Recordings, and is available on blue transparent vinyl and CD.

“Live audiences give you the tension and responsibility to be creative, for me that’s the challenge I like,” says the iconic Dutch guitarist.
“It’s my love to play for people all around the world.”

A master at work

My Focus – Live Under the Rainbow was recorded across Akkerman’s February 2025 tour, featuring his stellar band:

Marijn van den Berg (drums)

David de Marez Oyens (bass)

Coen Molenaar (keys)

Captured at renowned UK venues such as Bush Hall (London), Philharmonic Hall (Liverpool), and Oran Mor (Glasgow), the album celebrates Akkerman’s timeless artistry and stage presence.

It takes listeners on a journey through his classic Focus repertoire – including “Answers Questions – Questions Answers,” “Hocus Pocus,” “Sylvia,” “Focus I,” and “Focus II” – songs that remain close to his heart.
“I play these songs because my soul and heart are in them,” Jan reflects. “It’s a God-given talent that makes me proud.”

His solo works shine just as brightly, including “Piétons” from 1983’s Can’t Stand Noise, and two tracks from his acclaimed 2019 album Close Beauty: “Tommy’s Anniversary” and “Spiritual Privacy.”
