Legacy: The Creedence Clearwater Revival Years (John's Version) is a remarkable album by legendary American singer, guitarist and songwriter John Fogerty. On this double LP, Fogerty revisits the songs that made him internationally famous as the frontman and creative force behind Creedence Clearwater Revival.

Rather than presenting another greatest-hits compilation of the original recordings, Legacy features 20 newly recorded versions of classic CCR songs, performed by Fogerty himself.

As Creedence Clearwater Revival's principal songwriter, lead vocalist and guitarist, Fogerty created a distinctive musical style combining rock and roll, blues, country, rockabilly and swamp rock. His powerful guitar riffs, memorable melodies and unmistakable voice helped make CCR one of the most influential American rock bands of the late 1960s and early 1970s.

Between 1968 and 1972, Creedence Clearwater Revival released a remarkable series of albums and hit singles that became an essential part of rock history. Songs such as Proud Mary, Bad Moon Rising, Fortunate Son and Have You Ever Seen The Rain remain widely recognised today.

With Legacy, Fogerty returns to these compositions with renewed energy and a fresh perspective. The new recordings retain the spirit of the original songs while bringing them to life through contemporary performances and production.

The subtitle John's Version carries special personal significance. After decades of legal and business disputes surrounding his catalogue, Fogerty regained ownership of his song rights in 2023. This album celebrates that milestone and allows him to revisit his musical achievements on his own terms.

The project is also a family collaboration. Fogerty produced the album alongside his son Shane Fogerty, while his son Tyler Fogerty contributes guitar performances. His wife Julie Fogerty served as executive producer.

The recordings feature an accomplished group of musicians, including Matt Chamberlain, Bob Malone, Bob Glaub and Rob Stone, with mixing by renowned engineer Bob Clearmountain.

Across four sides of vinyl, the album revisits favourites such as Green River, Born On The Bayou, Down On The Corner, Up Around The Bend and Long As I Can See The Light.

Released on August 22, 2025, through Concord Records, Legacy: The Creedence Clearwater Revival Years (John's Version) is both a celebration of an extraordinary musical catalogue and a powerful statement of artistic independence.

An essential double LP for fans of Creedence Clearwater Revival, classic rock, roots rock and authentic American rock and roll.
