Product information
Julie London embarked on a series of albums graced with beautifully photographed covers that portrayed her as an idealized romantic companion, with the pinnacle being "Calendar Girl." Recorded in May 1956, this album featured an image corresponding to each month of the year, akin to the poses found in Playboy Magazine but with a greater sense of propriety. The endeavor required a suitable song for each month, and fortunately, songwriters Bobby Troup (for "February Brings The Rain" and "This October"), Pete King (for "November Twilight"), and Arthur Hamilton (for "Time For August" and "The Thirteenth Month") were readily available to contribute. Under Pete Kelly's orchestral arrangements, London showcased her ability to harmonize with an orchestra, resulting in outstanding renditions of "June In January," "September In The Rain," and "Sleigh Ride In July."
