With This Trip, American blues and soul artist Kevin Burt returns to the heart of what makes his music so compelling: storytelling, soulful vocals and an intimate connection between performer and listener. Released on August 28, 2026 through Gulf Coast Records, This Trip is Burt's fourth studio album.

Following three studio records featuring fuller band arrangements, Burt deliberately strips things back on This Trip. The more intimate instrumentation places his voice, lyrics and blues storytelling firmly in the foreground, bringing some of the immediacy of his live performances into the studio.

Recorded in Waterloo, Iowa, and produced by Michael Cutsforth, the album reflects on the different chapters of life, touching on love, loss, hurt, fear, happiness and the experiences that shape us.

The eleven-song collection opens with You Gone, followed by Round & Around, Ancestors Tears and Big Love, before arriving at the title track This Trip. The second side includes Daddy's Simile, Home Goin' Time, I'll Stand Up, You Can't Hold Me Down, Because I Love You and the closing Your Smile.

Presented here on cream coloured vinyl, This Trip is a particularly attractive release for fans of contemporary blues, soul and roots music.
