Product information
Mariska Veres, singer of Shocking Blue. A beautiful appearance that, in the last century, made many a boy's and man's heart race. Sultry and challenging. Blessed with a beautiful voice. That's the one-dimensional exterior we know. Inside, however, Mariska Veres was an innocent girl who preferred to curl up on the couch with her parents with a cup of tea. To whom the attention for her and the band largely passed by and who did not like the by-catch of rock 'n' roll: the sex, the drugs and the alcohol. In 'And Venus was her name', writer Leo Oldenburger shows how Mariska Veres, as the singer of Shocking Blue, conquered the whole world and flew around the globe several times to perform and celebrate successes.
