Product information
Original 2-sided used American Long Distance Telephone sign, once mounted near a public payphone to display long-distance calling rates.
The sign advertises the classic rate of 4 minutes for $1.00, with 25 cents for each additional minute, for coin calls only. It is a wonderful reminder of the era when public telephones were an essential part of everyday American life.
Constructed from aluminum with reflective highway-grade sheeting, the sign lights up when illuminated, just like official U.S. road signs.
This original example shows authentic outdoor wear from years of service, adding character and authenticity that collectors appreciate.
