Impressive and completely original American STOP sign from Chicago, complete with its original metal pole and heavy base. A fantastic piece of authentic American street furniture originating from the City of Chicago.
The STOP sign is double-sided, displaying the iconic red octagonal STOP design on both sides. Both the signs and the original base are marked "CITY OF CHICAGO", making this an especially interesting piece for collectors of original American traffic signs, street signs and urban memorabilia.
Standing approximately 190 cm (74.8") tall, this is a substantial display piece. The sign itself measures approximately 75 × 75 cm (29.5 × 29.5"). Thanks to its heavy original base, the complete sign can be displayed free-standing, making it perfect for a man cave, garage, showroom, American diner, bar, shop or collection.
The complete piece is in used vintage condition and shows authentic signs of age and previous use, including scratches, paint loss, discoloration and oxidation. These imperfections are part of its history and give the sign the genuine appearance expected from an original American street object.
