Original Portrait of Andy Tielman by Peter Donkersloot (2001) – A Unique Piece of Dutch Rock 'n Roll History
This remarkable original painting of Andy Tielman (Tielman Brothers) — the legendary pioneer of Indo-Rock — was created in 2001 by renowned Dutch artist Peter Donkersloot. Beautifully framed in an ornate gilded frame, this artwork is not only a visual masterpiece but also a significant part of Dutch musical heritage.
The portrait was officially presented to Andy Tielman on his 65th birthday, May 30, 2001, at Galerie Donkersloot in Amsterdam. The event was attended by an impressive lineup of Dutch musicians and celebrities, including The Wildcats from Rotterdam, Freddie Cavalli, Wally Tax, Leo Spindelaar, and the iconic Herman Brood. Due to Brood’s poor health at the time, his wife Xandra Brood presented the painting on his behalf.
Included with the artwork is a beautifully framed newspaper article detailing the event — a unique addition that further enhances the historical value of this piece.
