The Story of Vess – "The Billion Bubble Beverage"

Vess was founded in 1916 in St. Louis, Missouri by Sylvester "Vess" Jones. The company became one of the most successful regional soft drink brands in the American Midwest, producing a wide variety of soda flavors. Vess became especially known for beverages such as Whistle Orange Soda and Vess-Up. The famous slogan "The Billion Bubble Beverage" was used extensively from the 1930s onward and became one of the brand's most recognizable advertising campaigns.

Today, Vess remains a respected name among collectors of vintage soda advertising and Americana. Original wooden Vess crates have become increasingly difficult to find, especially in authentic original condition.
