Original Vintage Derby Products Oil Can – USA

A characterful original American Derby Products oil can with a fantastic heavily aged appearance. This large can features the classic DERBY PRODUCTS star logo together with the period slogan “Recognized Quality.”

The can is marked Five U.S. Gallons near the top and retains its metal carrying handle and large pouring/filler spout.

Its greatest appeal is undoubtedly the genuine original patina. Decades of use and ageing have left the original graphics faded and worn, with oxidation, scratches, discoloration and paint loss throughout. Rather than being restored, the can has been preserved with all of the character and imperfections that tell its history.

Original Derby markings remain visible on both sides, including the large DERBY lettering and circular Derby Products star emblem. Remnants of additional period product and company lettering can still be seen towards the lower section.

A great piece of original American petroliana for collectors who appreciate untouched and unrestored advertising pieces. Highly decorative in a man cave, garage, workshop, showroom, bar or alongside vintage gas pumps, oil cans and other automotive memorabilia.
