Post Malone - August 26 LP

August 26th is Post Malone's debut mixtape, originally released in May 2016, several months before his official debut album Stoney. The project captures an early Post Malone developing the distinctive blend of hip-hop, trap, R&B and melodic vocals that would soon make him an international star.

The title August 26th originally referred to the planned release date of Stoney. That album was eventually released on December 9, 2016, but the date remained immortalised as the title of this important early mixtape.

Its 10 tracks feature an impressive selection of guests, including Larry June on Never Understand, 2 Chainz on Money Made Me Do It, Jeremih on Fuck, Lil Yachty on Monte and Jaden Smith & Teo on Lonely....

Another standout is Hollywood Dreams / Come Down, showcasing the melodic side of Post Malone's early sound. Together with tracks such as 40 Funk, Git Wit U and Oh God, the mixtape offers a fascinating snapshot of the artist immediately before his worldwide breakthrough.

The vinyl edition appeared in 2019, with the European pressing carrying catalogue number POSTAUG26.

An essential early release for Post Malone fans looking to expand their collection beyond his major studio albums.
