Greater record stability for more precise vinyl playback
The Pro-Ject Record Puck is a substantial record weight designed to hold your vinyl firmly against the turntable platter during playback. Weighing 800 grams, it creates more stable contact between the record and platter, helping to reduce unwanted resonances and potentially improving timing, definition and overall clarity.
Made from brass and aluminium and equipped with a soft felt underside, the Record Puck combines serious weight with protection for your records. It is an attractive upgrade for compatible Pro-Ject turntables and other suitable record players.
Available at Bennies Fifties and online at the Fifties Store.

What does a record puck do?
A turntable is a highly sensitive mechanical playback system. The stylus traces extremely small modulations in the record groove, which means stability and resonance control can have an important influence on playback.
The Pro-Ject Record Puck sits over the turntable spindle and rests on top of the record. Its substantial 800-gram weight presses the vinyl more firmly against the platter, creating more consistent contact.
Depending on the turntable, platter and record, this can result in a calmer presentation with greater definition, tighter timing and improved control.
Helpful with slightly warped records
Not every vinyl record is perfectly flat. Older records in particular can develop minor warping as a result of storage, heat or age.
A substantial record weight can help improve contact between a slightly uneven record and the platter. While a puck cannot repair a seriously warped record, it can help create a more stable playback situation with records that are only slightly uneven.
Soft felt underside protects your vinyl
With an 800-gram weight sitting on top of a record, protecting its surface is important. Pro-Ject has therefore equipped the underside of the Record Puck with a soft felt layer.
This prevents direct hard contact between the metal body and the record surface, helping protect your vinyl while the puck performs its stabilising function.
Solid brass and aluminium construction
The Pro-Ject Record Puck is manufactured from brass and aluminium, giving it the mass required for effective record stabilisation.
Despite its substantial weight, it remains compact at just 78 mm in diameter and 26 mm high. The understated black finish also complements the clean, minimalist appearance of many Pro-Ject turntables.
Important: check turntable compatibility
The considerable weight of this puck is also something to take seriously. Not every turntable is designed to support an additional 800 grams.
Lightweight turntables, sensitive platter bearings and certain suspended turntable designs may not be suitable for such a heavy record weight. Always check whether your turntable can safely be used with an 800-gram puck before purchasing.
If your turntable manufacturer recommends a lighter record weight or clamp, this particular model may not be suitable.
A simple upgrade for serious vinyl enthusiasts
The Pro-Ject Record Puck offers a straightforward way to improve record stability without changing your cartridge, tonearm or electronics. Simply place the puck over the spindle on top of your record and start listening.
With its substantial construction, protective felt underside and elegant Pro-Ject styling, it makes an excellent accessory for vinyl enthusiasts looking to get more from a compatible turntable.
