Projected Sound Plainfield Drive-In Movie Speakers - Original (Set)

Step back into the golden age of outdoor cinema with this original set of two Projected Sound Plainfield drive-in movie speakers, both marked for Kerasotes Theatres. These authentic drive-in speakers are wonderful survivors from an era when families gathered beneath the stars to enjoy the latest Hollywood films from the comfort of their cars.

Manufactured by Projected Sound of Plainfield, Illinois, these speakers were designed to hang on a vehicle's window, delivering crystal-clear audio to moviegoers at drive-in theatres across America. The Kerasotes name adds an extra layer of historical significance, as the Kerasotes family operated one of the largest theatre chains in the United States and played an important role in American cinema history.

Both speakers retain their original cables, a feature often missing from surviving examples. The speakers are offered in very nice original condition, displaying attractive age-related wear consistent with decades of use. Functionality has not been tested and is therefore unknown, but they remain exceptional display pieces for collectors of cinema memorabilia, advertising, automobilia, and Americana.

Whether displayed in a home theatre, vintage diner, man cave, garage, or movie memorabilia collection, these iconic speakers instantly evoke the nostalgia of classic American drive-in culture.
