Ron Van Varik - Pop-Photographer: Thursday night. Café Animo. The tables are a bit sticky, the beer is cold, and there is no setlist in sight.
In short: you can feel in your bones that this is going to be more than a pleasant evening.
And when Ralph de Jongh is also on stage, you know one thing for sure: something is happening here.
Ralph is no ordinary musician. He is a walking work of art, a blues beast in clogs, a musical shaman who seems to come straight from the Maas delta.
He plays songs that the Stones forgot to write—raw, sincere and with a rhythm that seems to come straight from his wooden shoes.
No gimmick, but pure antenna music.
You don't have to be a blues expert to feel: this is real.
