Product information

The Necessary Cosmic Frenzy highlights rare and early experimental work by Todd Rundgren and his first band, Runt, brought back for Record Store Day 2026. This release uncovers deep cuts, alternate takes and studio explorations that showcase Rundgren’s inventive mind during his formative creative years.

Pressed on exclusive Blue Vinyl, the album captures the raw, genre-blending spirit of early Rundgren: psychedelic touches, progressive arrangements and inventive pop-rock ideas that would later define his career.

A highly collectible RSD edition for fans of Rundgren, early 70s rock and archival releases.
