Product information
With The Rhythmatist, Stewart Copeland – best known as the drummer of The Police – explores rhythm, world music and cinematic soundscapes in this exclusive Record Store Day 2026 reissue. Originally released in 1985, the album returns fully remastered and pressed on stunning blue translucent vinyl.
Inspired by Copeland’s travels through Africa, The Rhythmatist blends layered percussion, hypnotic grooves and atmospheric compositions. The album stands as one of the most adventurous and globally inspired projects of the 1980s, highlighting Copeland’s creative depth beyond his work with The Police.
This limited Record Store Day pressing also includes an exclusive “Rhythmatist” print (hand-signed by Stewart Copeland – depending on edition details) and marks the first vinyl release since its original 1985 issue. A must-have for collectors, fans of The Police and lovers of genre-crossing 80s music.
