The Bird Experience is the self-titled debut album by Dutch band The Bird Experience, released on May 22, 2026 through Suburban Records. This striking edition comes on Bloody Mary coloured vinyl and delivers nine tracks blending raw blues, psychedelic rock, gritty soul, funk and rock 'n' roll.

Based in The Hague, Netherlands, the band centres around singer and harmonica player Mees Vullings, also known from Heath. The line-up is completed by Pedro Croes, Redmer Kamsma, Dylan van de Grift, Lars Douma and Ishmerai Gill.

The album opens with the extended The Bird's Boogie, immediately establishing the band's adventurous approach. Canto VII follows with a darker, almost ritualistic psychedelic atmosphere, while Blood For Bones, She's So Fine and Shaking demonstrate the band's ability to move between blues, soul and infectious grooves.

The lengthy Joe's House Of All-American Family Entertainment takes things in another direction, while Memoria and If Dead Could Dance further explore the group's psychedelic side. The nine-track album concludes with Ceremony.

A defining part of The Bird Experience's sound is the harmonica, which is treated as a central instrument rather than simply a traditional blues embellishment. Combined with strong vocals, energetic rhythms and psychedelic tension, it gives the group an immediately distinctive character.

The band quickly attracted attention within the Dutch underground scene, performing at the renowned Roadburn Festival in April 2026 shortly before the album's release.

For vinyl collectors, this edition is particularly attractive thanks to its Bloody Mary coloured vinyl, confirmed by the band's official Bandcamp release page.

An exciting debut for fans of psychedelic blues, blues rock, soul, funk and adventurous contemporary roots music.
