Weird Scenes Inside The Gold Mine is a classic double-LP compilation by The Doors, originally released in 1972. It was the first Doors compilation released following the death of Jim Morrison in 1971 and brings together 22 recordings showcasing the darker, psychedelic and blues-influenced side of the legendary band.

The collection spans music recorded between 1967 and 1971 by the classic line-up of Jim Morrison, Ray Manzarek, Robby Krieger and John Densmore. Rather than focusing exclusively on obvious hits, the album combines famous Doors recordings with deeper album cuts and rarities.

Highlights include Break On Through, Strange Days, Love Her Madly, L.A. Woman, Riders On The Storm and the epic The End, alongside deeper cuts including Shaman's Blues, The Spy, Running Blue, Maggie McGill and Horse Latitudes.

Collectors will also appreciate the inclusion of the two original B-sides Who Scared You and (You Need Meat) Don't Go No Further, the latter being The Doors' interpretation of a Willie Dixon song.

The title itself comes from a lyric in The End, perfectly reflecting the mysterious atmosphere running throughout this fascinating collection. The reissue was remastered by longtime Doors engineer Bruce Botnick.

An essential double album for anyone looking to explore both the classics and the deeper side of The Doors.
