Tokheim 300 Gas Pump – Original Patina – Shell – USA

A highly decorative original American Tokheim 300 gas pump featuring an incredible, naturally aged original patina. Rather than being fully restored and repainted, the exterior has been left with its weathered paint, surface rust, cracking and traces of earlier paintwork. It gives this pump the kind of authentic character that simply cannot be recreated.

The Tokheim retains its characteristic meter display with Sale, Gallons and Per Gallon readouts. The hose and attractive Tokheim fuel nozzle are also present. The actual internal pumping mechanism has been removed to eliminate much of the weight and old gasoline smell, making the pump considerably more practical as an indoor display piece.

For presentation, the pump has been fitted with a new Shell globe and reproduction enamel Shell Motor Oil/Gasoline signs. These Shell additions are therefore not represented as vintage originals. Combined with the heavily aged original Tokheim cabinet, however, they create a superb classic American service-station appearance.

The lighting has been converted and made operational for European 230 Volt power. With the Shell globe illuminated, the pump becomes an impressive focal point, particularly in an atmospheric garage, showroom or collection.

A fantastic piece for collectors of petroliana, automobilia and Americana. The scratches, worn paint, rust and aged surfaces are an essential part of its appeal and give this Tokheim a wonderfully authentic, untouched appearance.
