Available at Bennies Fifties and the online Fifties Store

Intensified Sounds: The Beverley's Rock Steady Singles 1967-1968 is an outstanding 2LP compilation exploring one of the most important periods in Jamaican music history. The collection focuses on recordings from the legendary Beverley's Records catalogue during 1967 and 1968, when rocksteady became firmly established as Jamaica's defining sound.

The compilation is the fourth instalment in Music On Vinyl's exclusive Trojan Records compilation series. It was compiled by renowned reggae authority Laurence Cane-Honeysett, who also contributed the liner notes. Across four vinyl sides, the collection presents 28 classic Jamaican recordings.

Among the featured artists are Desmond Dekker & The Aces, with tracks including Unity, Mother Tongue Long, Sabotage, Ah It Mek and Intensified (Music Like Dirt). The Maytals contribute the essential 54-46 That's My Number, alongside Struggle, Just Tell Me, School Days and Bim Today - Bam Tomorrow.

The collection also features Derrick Morgan, George Dekker, Austin Faithful, Eric Morris and numerous recordings by Roland Alphonso & The Beverley's All-Stars, offering an excellent overview of the depth and quality of Beverley's Records during the golden age of Jamaican rocksteady.

This special Music On Vinyl edition is pressed on 180 gram orange coloured vinyl, housed in a gatefold sleeve, and is limited worldwide to just 1,500 individually numbered copies.

An essential double album for collectors and fans of rocksteady, ska, early reggae, Trojan Records and classic Jamaican music.
