Vintage Gasoline Can – Midwest Can Company – Chicago USA

A fantastic original vintage American gasoline can with a striking period graphic design. Finished in red with a large yellow lightning bolt and bold “Gasoline” lettering, this is a wonderful piece of authentic American garage and service-station memorabilia.

The lower section is marked Midwest Can Company – Chicago, Illinois, together with a capacity marking of 6½ U.S. Gallons. The original-style “Danger – Extremely Flammable” warning label is also still visible.

The can remains in a beautiful original used vintage condition. Scratches, paint loss, discoloration, oxidation and general signs of age are all present, giving it exactly the authentic patina collectors look for in old American petroliana. The metal carrying handle and filler opening are also present.

With its bold Gasoline lettering, lightning-bolt design and classic red-and-yellow color combination, this can makes an extremely decorative display piece. Ideal for collectors of petroliana, automobilia and Americana, or as decoration in a garage, man cave, workshop, showroom or classic car collection.
