For Record Store Day, Universe Productions is releasing a limited and numbered edition of the LP Trunk full of memories by the legendary Wally Tax. This LP kicks off the campaign to revive Wally Tax's musical legacy. This will be followed by a tribute concert in Paradiso on July 5, 2024. During this concert, Universe Productions will launch a second LP by Wally Tax with new songs and start a fundraising campaign for a statue of Tax.
The songs of the LP Trunk full of memories come from the archive of former chairman of the Dutch fan club Anne Klomp. The songs on the record relate not only to his friendship with Wally, but also to the music tapes he secured immediately after his sudden death.
Tax (1948-2005) was a true Amsterdammer and the face of one of the best-known Nederbeat bands of the sixties, the Outsiders. They made their breakthrough in 1966 with a performance as support act for the Rolling Stones. The Outsiders were in the charts continuously for two years.
