Wurlitzer P-10 Simplex (1934) – The beginning of jukebox history
The Wurlitzer P-10 Simplex from 1934 represents the very beginning of jukebox history. This model was Wurlitzer’s first jukebox ever produced, laying the foundation for a brand that would dominate the American jukebox market throughout the 1930s and 1940s.
Its release came at a pivotal moment in history. Following the repeal of prohibition in December 1933, countless bars and public venues opened across the United States. Live music and jukeboxes became the primary forms of entertainment — and Wurlitzer quickly capitalized on this opportunity with the P-10.
